At Age UK Lincoln & South Lincolnshire, we often work with other organisations and universities on research projects that aim to use their findings to improve the lives of older people.

  • A randomised controlled trial of tailored Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for older people with treatment resistant generalised anxiety disorder (CONTACT-GAD)

Are you aged 60 years and over and have difficulties with worrying?

Are you interested in taking part in a research study that aims to reduce anxiety in older people with chronic worry that has not improved after previous treatment?

If you are then we would like to hear from you!

We are looking at whether a new form of talking therapy called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy is helpful for reducing anxiety in older people with chronic worry that has not responded to treatment.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy helps people learn how to live as best a life as they can with chronic worry, by helping them do things that are important and matter to them, alongside any worries or concerns they may have.

If you would like further information about this study, please contact:

  • Help develop a new ‘brain training’ treatment for people with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI)

A research study is being carried out at Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust by Dr Nima Moghaddam from the University of Lincoln.

We are developing a new ‘brain training’ treatment to help people with MCI to address problems with thinking skills. We need your help to see

    • whether this training (known as SMART) is acceptable to people with MCI, and
    • if we can do a larger study to test whether SMART improves thinking skills in people with MCI

We are recruiting adults with a diagnosis of MCI.
